A New Veteran™
Founded in 2022
Let’s be honest, veteran’s benefits are a very underutilized service and underserved community. Many veterans won’t even attempt dealing with the VA because their system is complex, frustrating, and simply inefficient at many levels if you don’t understand what they are really asking or looking for.
Our co-founder, Andrew Davenport, saw this firsthand. After decades in the Army, Andrew saw how so many amazing fellow men and women who gave the military everything - ended up struggling in civilian life due to both seen and unseen wounds from their time of service. Yet these amazing people weren’t getting the help they needed.

Andrew Davenport
Executive Director and U.S. Army Combat Veteran, Andrew Davenport, brings his two-plus decades of experience developing and managing client relationships within various communities and industries to A New Veteran™ nonprofit.
With a heart for his fellow Veterans, Andrew knows firsthand how dynamic service men and women downplay their time in the military, coupled with the perceived stigma that comes when asking for VA services, too many veterans go without versus getting the support they have earned.
Approachable, understanding, and strong - Andrew works one-on-one with many of the veterans A New Veteran™ serves, helping them navigate through their service history, story, life situations, and the Veterans Affairs system.
With Andrew at the helm, A New Veteran™, is changing the lives of countless veterans and communities across the country by having these veterans view their military careers and themselves in a new way.
Our Board
I never thought I was eligible for benefits. I assumed a VA disabled person was missing a limb, or had obvious combat wounds. But I learned that I'm just as much a veteran as anyone else is. I've struggled with mental health issues for years and I've always talked about how they were a byproduct of my service. But I also always thought it was just one of those things you deal with and never knew there was a path to get some help and benefits. I now feel empowered.
